SHE WINS $1.000 IN THE TRIBUNE'S $20.200 BEAUTY CONTEST-Miss Mary Simmonds. 1129 Sunnyside avenue, carries off first prize for Chicago in the competition to determine who are the loveliest girls in the central west. Miss Simmonds is 22, and a clerk in the federal board vocational education bureau in the old Leiter building. "Animation, vivacity. the charm of daintiness and remarkably beautiful eyes" were the points that distinguished Miss Simmonds in the judgment of Pauline Palmer. Albin Polasek and J. Wellington Reynolds, the three artist judges. Miss Simmonds will qualify along with the other prize winners as a candidate for the $10,000 prize for the most beautiful girl of all.
