This is William Redmond in a calendar print titled 'Lucky Dog,' copyright John Baumgarth Co., Chicago; Painting by R.F. Ingerle. Ingerle was the artist partner of photographer L.G. Woolfenden. When they collaborated, they signed their work "L. Goddard." But the Goddard signature is absent here, so did Ingerle paint William, a Tonnesen model, from a photo by Tonnesen? I was able to identify the newspaper that William is holding. It's the Chicago Daily Tribune from November 26, 1917. The headline reads: 'Bomb Bares Anti-US Nest in Milwaukee.' The sub-head follows: 'Austro-Italians Held. Blast Aimed at Patriot Pastor.' Photo courtesy Mary Redmond.
